This is one of my favourite desert recipes and goes down well with everyone when we have friends or family over. Everyone loves chocolate and this chocolate brownie is irresistible. This chocolate brownie recipe is simple and easy to make, you can’t go wrong. Add hazelnuts, almonds or pistachio nuts for a bit of added crunch.
Ingredients
- 200 grams of dark chocolate (milk chocolate will work too if you are stuck)
- 200 grams of caster sugar
- 200 grams of butter (leave at room temperature)
- 3 large eggs
- 50 grams of plain flour
- 1 tea spoon of baking powder
- 1 large handful of nuts (pistachio, hazelnuts or almonds)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
- Crush nuts in a pestel and mortar
- Melt the chocolate and butter in a bowl over simmering boiling water
- Whisk eggs and sugar until it is very thick
- Combine the chocolate and butter mixture to the eggs, sugar mixture, nuts and the baking powder
- Mix until all combined and it looks like a thick delicious gooey chocolate mix
- Place baking paper into a square baking tray
- Pour mixture into the tray
- Sprinkle some nuts on top
- Bake in the oven for 25 minutes. The top should slightly crusty but the centre will be soft
- Let it cool in the tin and divide into squares
